R&D Activities

The DECN members develp their research activities in the framework of several Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT) funded Research Units, which are described in detail in their webpages:

• Centre for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (C2TN)
• Associate Laboratories (IPFN, INESC-MN, IBB)

This research is carried out very often in networks that integrate public and private institutions, national and foreign.

Special Technological Services

A significant number of DECN members (researchers, laboratory and administrative technicians) are also allocated to Laboratórios de Desenvolvimento Tecnológico (LDTs), which provide specialized technical services and are responsible for the fulfillment of legal obtligations of public interest:

• LEN - Laboratory of Nuclear Engineering
• LPSR - Laboratory for Radiologial Protection and Safety
• LATR - Laboratory for Accelerators and Radiation Technologies
