Rita Melo took a decisive step in her career by joining the research department at Instituto Superior Técnico, becoming an Assistant Researcher at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Sciences (DECN).

In the field of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, Rita's research work aims to understand the interaction between proteins, aiming at a better knowledge of the biological mechanisms of diseases, being fundamental for the development of new therapies, with a focus on personalized medicine – an innovative approach that adapts treatments to the unique characteristics of each individual.

With the exponential growth of artificial intelligence and advanced computational tools, Rita contributes to a deeper understanding of biological processes at the molecular level, allowing the creation of more effective drugs and more precise treatments.
