MI-TRAP monitors the air quality in Lisbon!

#ObservAR team, led by researcher Marta Almeida from C2TN - Center for Nuclear Science and Technology at Técnico, has completed an unprecedented air quality monitoring campaign in Lisbon.
For the first time, equipment capable of continuously measuring the composition of atmospheric particles, the size distribution of ultrafine particles, and black carbon was used. Monitoring took place at three strategic locations influenced by the Cruise Port, Airport, and road traffic.
As Marta Almeida emphasizes: "This effort will play a crucial role in identifying the main sources of pollution, protecting public health, preserving the environment, promoting sustainable mobility, and supporting socioeconomic development."
This work was carried out within the framework of the project "MI-TRAP - MItigating TRansport-related Air Pollution in Europe," a European initiative that brings together 26 partners from 10 countries to combat air pollution caused by transport.
