Marta Dias is to be congratulated for joining the Research Career at Técnico, having become an Auxiliary Researcher at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Sciences (DECN), where she works in the development of advanced materials to be used in extreme conditions.

During her career, Marta has focused her work on the development and characterization of innovative materials that can be used in different areas of scientific interest, namely their mechanical, structural and thermal characterization, along with their interaction with radiation and plasmas.

As for the future, Marta highlighted that "this work will have a significant impact on the future of Materials Science, especially in the development of materials for nuclear fusion reactors and in the aerospace sector. Research into materials that are highly resistant to extreme temperatures and irradiation paves the way for promising technological advances in several areas."

"Reaching this place is, without a doubt, a very important achievement. I believe it marks the beginning of a long and challenging journey, but with a clear purpose: personal development, the positive impact on those around me and, above all, the search for deep and transformative knowledge", she shared.
