Joana Madureira joined the research career at Instituto Superior Técnico and is now an Assistant Researcher at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Sciences (DECN), where she develops her activity in the application of ionizing radiation technologies for the treatment and recovery of agro-industrial waste, contributing to environmental and economic sustainability, health and social well-being.

"It is gratifying to know that the work I develop at the Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies can have such a significant impact on society, which is also fundamental for my personal and professional fulfillment", shared Joana Madureira.
