"InCildHealth" Project

The PhD students in Environmental Engineering, Raquel Pimenta and Ketlyn Oliveira, together with the researcher Marta Almeida, from Instituto Superior Técnico, at C2TN - Centre for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies, recently participated in a working meeting with the #InChildHealth project team, which took place in Vienna, Austria.
The objectives were aimed at debating the impact of air quality on children's health in order to develop technologies to reduce exposure to emerging pollutants – an issue of special relevance for this vulnerable population. This project is being implemented in 35 schools in 7 European cities and aims to influence effective public policies to protect children's health.
The event brought together experts from various scientific areas, from Environment, Chemistry, Microbiology, Health, Technology to Social Sciences, from countries such as Austria, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Greece, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
