C2TN integrates awarded project in the “Born from Knowledge 2021” ideas competition

The researcher at C2TN – Center for Nuclear Sciences and Technologies, Rita Melo, is part of the team of scientists behind the “Pick yOUR bRain” project, distinguished in the 2021 edition of the "Born from Knowledge" ideas competition.

The initiative promoted by the National Innovation Agency (ANI) aims to boost the transfer of knowledge to the business fabric and “Pick yOUR bRain” was one of the 8 awarded projects in this edition, standing out in the “Health and Wellness” category.

The “Pick yUR bRain” platform, which results from this project, allows the detection of new molecular targets, that is, new therapeutic targets for neurological diseases associated with aging, such as Parkinson's or Alzheimer's, and can thus be an important asset for companies in the sector. pharmaceutical.

The distinguished ideas gained access to a three-month acceleration program in Science and Technology, also under the responsibility of ANI.
