Ana Sofia, a research grant recipient at CTN, was awarded the "IMEYMAT Student Prize"

Ana Sofia, a research fellow at the CTN of the Instituto Superior Técnico, was awarded the IMEYMAT Student Prize for Best Poster Contribution at the conference "WOCSDICE - EXMATEC 2025", which took place in Cádiz, Spain, from June 16 to 20.

The prize recognizes the research work developed by Ana Sofia, entitled "Study of RF-sputtered Ga₂O₃ thin films for DUV photodetectors", which explores a promising approach to the use of gallium oxide (Ga₂O₃) thin films, produced by RF-sputtering, for deep ultraviolet (DUV) radiation detectors. This work is part of the development of emerging technologies with the potential to revolutionize various areas such as environmental monitoring, optical communications, industrial control, and biomedical applications.

The quality and excellence of the presentation of your poster highlighted the cutting-edge research currently underway at the Accelerator Laboratory of the Technological and Nuclear Campus (CTN), under the guidance of researchers Katharina Lorenz and Marco Peres, from the wide-gap semiconductor group at the Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering for Microsystems and Nanotechnologies (INESC-MN), of which Ana Sofia is a part.

More than an award, this distinction represents the recognition of national talent and the impact of Portuguese research in an international scientific context.
