During the 1^st Conference of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (AJG), held in Tunisia, Hammamet, from 11 to 15 November 2018, the paper presented by Paula M. Carreira member of DECN/IST and GREI - C²TN/IST, (P. Carreira, A. Lobo de Pina, A. Mota Gomes, J.M. Marques & F. Monteiro Santos) "Geochemical and isotopic marks for tracing groundwater salinization: Santiago Island, Republic of Cape Verde, case study", received the Springer Best Paper Award for the “Track 6: Advances in Sustainable and Environmental Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Hydrochemistry" of the AJG Conference.

Paula M. Carreira also received the “Springer Best Reviewer Award” and the “Springer Certificate of Appreciation” related to the word performed as a reviewer at the 1^st Conference of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (CAJG).
